International COIL Project: Nutrition and Physiotherapy Join Forces Between Colombia and Mexico
- 27 noviembre, 2025
The María Cano University Foundation, Cali campus, has successfully completed a remarkable COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) project in partnership with Anáhuac University (UAP) in Puebla, Mexico. Students from the Nutrition program in Puebla and Physiotherapy students from María Cano Cali actively participated in this initiative, developing two academic proposals aimed at strengthening international collaborative learning and research.

For three weeks, both groups comparatively explored the perception and use of front-of-package warning labels on food among university students in Puebla and Cali, as well as the participants’ eating habits and self-perceived health. Through synchronous and asynchronous activities, mixed teams were formed to adapt survey instruments, administer online questionnaires, and analyze the data obtained, promoting intercultural reflection and teamwork.

Among the project deliverables were combined databases, infographics, comparative tables, mini-reports, and hybrid presentations shared between the universities. The COIL closing included exchange and discussion sessions, consolidating a valuable exercise in internationalization and interdisciplinary education, aligned with research and statistics courses in Mexico and research fundamentals in Colombia.
The María Cano University Foundation celebrates this experience, which fosters academic, research, and cultural competencies in its students, strengthening international ties and promoting the comprehensive training of professionals with a global perspective.
