María Cano Faculty Propose Innovative Model for Higher Education Institutions

Fundación Universitaria María Cano continues to strengthen its scientific production with the publication of the article “Rethinking Entrepreneurship and Innovation Areas in HEIs: A Proposed Model” in the international journal European Public & Social Innovation Review (EPSIR). The study was conducted by faculty researchers Jhon Freddy Santos Gómez, Ana María Pérez Naranjo, and Natali Molina Paneso, who present a strategic proposal aimed at transforming how Higher Education Institutions manage entrepreneurship and innovation.
The research emerged from an interdisciplinary and inter-institutional collaboration with Institución Universitaria Digital de Antioquia. This partnership enabled the integration of diverse academic perspectives to design a model that responds to the dynamics and demands of today’s global ecosystem. The approach highlights how collaboration across knowledge areas and institutions becomes a key factor in addressing contemporary challenges in higher education.
This academic contribution aligns with the institution’s mission by strengthening teaching through the incorporation of updated research findings into academic programs and by consolidating research through high-impact international publications. Moreover, the proposed model extends beyond the classroom by providing practical tools that empower universities to act as drivers of economic and social development within their regions.
