- 2 julio, 2026
Fundación Universitaria María Cano continues to strengthen its commitment to collaborative research and knowledge generation through the academic visit of Dr. Yenny Viki Paredes Arturo, psychologist, Master’s graduate in Neuropsychology, and Ph.D. in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience, professor and researcher at Universidad Mariana.
This academic stay represents a valuable opportunity to consolidate interinstitutional scientific partnerships, strengthen research capacities, and advance projects aimed at understanding issues that impact mental health, human development, and quality of life across different populations.
During her visit, Dr. Paredes joins the Psychology Program faculty team to support the project “The Relationship Between Parenting Styles, Cognitive Domains, and Academic Performance in Children and Adolescents Aged 7 to 17 Diagnosed with ADHD in Medellín.” Her expertise will contribute to enhancing the methodological framework, strengthening fieldwork processes, and advancing the development of scientific outputs that provide evidence for understanding and addressing ADHD in educational and family contexts.
The academic agenda also includes training sessions, knowledge exchange activities, and research instrument validation workshops for faculty members and researchers. Planned activities include a training session on research models in aging and older adulthood, as well as discussion and analysis sessions focused on institutional projects related to the development of a psychometric instrument for assessing environmental empathy in school-aged children and a multidimensional assessment model for older adults.
As part of the visit, an interinstitutional collaboration meeting between Universidad Mariana and Fundación Universitaria María Cano will be held to identify new opportunities for academic and research cooperation. This space will support the development of joint initiatives focused on strengthening research networks, academic mobility, and the generation of socially impactful knowledge.
Dr. Paredes’ visit reflects María Cano’s commitment to academic excellence, high-quality research, and the development of strategic partnerships that contribute to scientific advancement in the country. It also highlights the importance of collaboration among higher education institutions in generating evidence-based solutions to contemporary challenges in mental health, neuropsychology, and human development.
