- 10 octubre, 2019

The XXIVth International Meeting of RECLA, which brings together rectors and deputy rectors as well, was held at the Álvares Penteado School of Commerce Foundation – FECAP, in Sao Paulo Brazil under the central theme of “Critical factors of success in virtual continuing education”.
Directors of continuing education, professors, researchers and the general public of the Ibero-American Universities gathered around an agenda posing the new challenges for virtual continuing education. Given the increasing advancement of technology, the renewed pedagogical models and changes in the public, continuing education units are challenged to deepen the use of virtuality strategies both in their online, blended and even in-person programs.
The central working axes of the meeting were:
- Teaching pedagogical challenges and how to address them
- Strategies and policies to manage CVD
- Design and evaluation of the online user experience
- Innovation and the future of virtual continuing education
Rector Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras and deputy rector Carlos Julio Escobar Noreña, were present in Brazil between October 8 and 11, representing the María Cano University Foundation. The Network of Continuing Education in Latin America and Europe – RECLA, was founded in 1997 and currently has 109 Associated Universities, including María Cano since 2017.
