Represented by Professor Ángela María Silva, our Cali branch was present in a workshop led by the Colombian Association of Universities – ASCUN, to address actions in the field of prevention and care of cases of gender violence in higher Education Institutions, aiming to collectively consolidate recommendations to guide the construction of protocols and service routes; activity that took place at Universidad Libre.

The participation in these workshops aims to have more trained staff guaranteeing the well-being of the university community every day. Also, it feeds the development of the welfare area in María cano, trains the personnel in charge for the correct handling of situations that could arise and Always provide excellent support to students under any circumstance that may arise regarding this particular situations.

As input, this exercise had the results of the workshops held in previous national meetings with people in charge of Welfare areas, in which proposals for conceptualization and strategies for the construction and updating of protocols were identified. There was the participation of expert investigators from the Violence Observatory of the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences and the Institute of Intercultural Studies of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Cali, who shared results of preliminary studies and valuable experiences.
