The mission of the Corporation Network of Higher Education Institutions in Huila is to contribute in coordination with public and private entities in the municipality of Neiva, the department of Huila and the entire nation, to the formulation and implementation of projects that promote local, regional and national development, in accordance with the fundamental principles that govern Higher Education such as teaching, research and social outreach, as well as contributing to the generation of international cooperation networks. Ensure the formation of human talent, strengthen units of entrepreneurship, promote knowledge management, encourage people to develop healthy living habits, familiarize communities and generate collective welfare are among its objectives and purposes.

Since 2016, The Maria Cano University Foundation has been an active member of the Network, and it has been participating in different work groups, which are segmented into vital issues such as: institutional welfare, internationalization, research and social projection; defining policies and actions that allow us to offer more and better services for the strengthening of the community. In addition, The Maria Cano has been part of the Network’s Board of Directors, showing commitment in all the activities carried out. Thus, in the Board of Directors held in the Ordinary Assembly on Wednesday, March 11th, the Secretary of the same was assumed with representation of the coordinator of Neiva Campuss, physiotherapist Diana Maria Salazar Rojas, who will represent the institution, but also the university community.

Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, in the Presidency, Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia – UNAD, in the Vice Presidency, Universidad Antonio Nariño, in the Treasury, and Universidad Surcolombiana, as Tax Inspector, are also present in the new steering group of the Network of Higher Education Institutions of Huila. Collaborative team work that allows to strenght important alliances for this outstanding region of Colombia.
