The Maria Cano University Foundation promotes the development of educational action from its institutional mission, through the generation of critical thinking and commitment to the social context in which it is found. In this way, it hopes to generate processes of social change that favor the recognition of the human being in terms of equity and respect. Therefore, under the national contingency generated by covid-19, the Foundation takes up its values of leadership, transparency and responsibility, in order to promote the implementation of impact strategies that mitigate the adversities this situation presents to its community.
Based on this institutional intention, the Institutional Welfare Department proposes the «Maria Cano Solidarity Campaign» in all its Campus, aimed at generating resources among the administrative and teaching staff, focused on supporting the difficulties of: food, academic material, payment of tuition, English courses and graduation fee, of the institutional community, allowing to contribute to their welfare.
Purpose:
Promote the social commitment of the institutional community through the donation of resources to support people in a high degree of vulnerability.
Achievement:
The economic support will be oriented to contribute to the following areas: basic needs, academic material, payment of tuition, English courses and graduation fee to cover the needs of the members of the institutional community, after analyzing the request for help and the fulfillment of the requirements set forth in this document.
Sources of funding:
The sources of financing will be constituted by voluntary donations from administrative staff, teachers or other members of the institutional community. Donations will be gathered by:
- Donations of one day’s work or another value, from administrative and teaching staff through payroll deduction, authorizing up to April 28.
- Donations from students and/or other members of the institutional community through the BBVA savings account N.365319888.
Management and control:
- The Institutional Welfare Department will monitor and control the donated resources.
- The Institutional Welfare Committee will manage and execute the resources.
- The Socioeconomic Outreach Coordination will be in charge of receiving support requests.
- The Maria Cano Solidarity Fund Committee will award the support requested.
Support application requirements:
- Belong to the institutional community.
- Fill out the application form for solidarity support.
- Send a letter of application to the Institutional Welfare Department in which it is clearly explained the reason for your request.
Maria Cano Solidarity Fund Committee:
The Maria Cano Solidarity Committee will be responsible for awarding support, according to the resources of the Solidarity Campaign and the criteria of these regulations. It will define: the amount of support to be granted, approved applications and rejected applications.
It will be consisted of:
- The Head of Institutional Welfare.
- The Coordinator of Human Development and Socioeconomic Outreach.
- Teachers of Institutional Welfare, Campuses: Cali, Neiva and Popayan.
- Representative of the Program Directors.
- Budget analyst of Medellin Campus.
- Coordinator of Health and Safety at Work.
- Strategic Projects Coordinator.
- Student representative.
Note: The Committee may meet if there is a quorum (half plus one person).
Assignment of support:
A Maria Cano Solidarity Fund Committee will be set up to evaluate the applications made by the community. The following aspects will be taken into account:
- The assignment of support will be made in an equitable manner between the number of applications received and the available resources. Having as a precept the coverage of the applications approved by the Committee.
- Only one support can be provided per application.
- The people who make the application may be called for a virtual interview, if the Maria Cano Solidarity Fund Committee determines it.
Erroneous, incomplete or adulterated information:
Under no circumstances will accept claims for applications rejected by The Maria Cano Solidarity Fund Committee, which are due to the abuse of good faith or deception of The Maria Cano University Foundation.
End of the Campaign:
When the collected resources are executed an explanation will be made to the donors of:
- Financial relationship of money donated.
- Relationship of acquired elements of first necessity.
- List of applications approved and rejected by The Maria Cano Solidarity Fund Committee.
- List of support given.
