María Cano before the Academic Commission of the SAI
- 13 julio, 2020

The María Cano Faculty of Engineering was invited to present their experience in the implementation of face-to-face classes with the support of virtuality or remote education as a measure due to the health emergency generated by the covid-19 pandemic, before the Academic Commission carried out by the Antioquia Society of Engineers and Architects – SAI. On this occasion, the institution, through the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Raúl Gilberto Salazar Saldarriaga, presented the way in which the María Cano University Foundation implemented a contingency plan to continue education through virtuality and, in this way, guarantee the completion of the first academic semester of 2020 for all students of the Faculty of Engineering. The meeting was also attended by the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Medellín campus, and the Fundación Universitaria Católica del Norte.
In its institutional philosophy, the Antioquia Society of Ingerieros and Architects – SAI, has as its mission:
Promote the study of science and its applications for the development of Engineering and Architecture, as well as the Department and the Country; contribute to the study and solution of technical and economic engineering problems that confront the Department and the Country, such as official or other entities; promote the scientific, technical and social training of Engineers and Architects; strengthen ties of professional fellowship; and promote mutual knowledge of associates.
SAI’s vision is focused on being the most representative association of Engineering and Architecture professionals in Antioquia; and to establish and maintain itself as a benchmark for influencing engineering and architecture issues broadly and effectively in local, regional and national sustainable development processes.
