María Cano advances in all its projects, complies with all the requirements of the law and is concerned with growing in all academic, administrative, extension and social projection aspects. The Institution, with the leadership of the rector Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras and the vice-rectors Jorge Albeiro Herrera Builes and Carlos Julio Escobar Noreña, receives in a virtual way the renewal visit of the Qualified Registries for the Physiotherapy program at the Medellín, Cali and Popayán headquarters , which takes place through the Collaborate platform with the academic peers from the Ministry of National Education: Eulalia María Amador Rodero, Luis Fernando Rodríguez Ibagué, María Mercedes del Carmen Naranjo Aristizabal, Nathalia Lucía Romo Valbuena, Erika Patricia Palacio Duran and Yúber Liliana Rodríguez Rojas.
The Physiotherapy program bases its work on Law 528 of 1999, which is why in its academic conception it has as an essential object of study the understanding and management of human body movement through the different stages of life. From the national and international references of the profession and in accordance with Institutional policies, the program aims to train qualified and comprehensive professionals, guaranteeing their development in the social, psychological and biological spheres, in the different areas and fields of performance of the professional work, in such a way that they respond to training requirements at the regional, national and international levels.
The graduate of the María Cano University Foundation, is characterized by being a caring, autonomous, ethical professional, with critical, creative thinking, communication skills and social commitment that allows him to be an agent of change participating in a democratic and responsible way in the processes of transformation of his profession and the community in which he intervenes. He is a comprehensive professional capable of contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of the individual, the family and the community through the application of knowledge about human body movement as an essential element of men’s health.
