Renewal of the Qualified Public Accounting Registry

The María Cano University Foundation, Medellín headquarters, through the Faculty of Business Sciences, received Resolution No. 024297 of December 30, 2020 by means of which the Qualified Registry of the Public Accounting program is renewed, in the face-to-face modality . The Qualified Registry is the license that the Ministry of National Education grants to a Higher Education program when it shows that it meets the quality conditions required by law. The State, in concert with the higher education sector, permanently defines and evaluates these quality conditions, both for programs and for Institutions.
The Public Accounting program of the María Cano University Foundation offers future professionals the possibility of transforming their capacities for making strategic decisions in relation to finance and accounting management, with a clear orientation to social responsibility and the solution of Organizational problems in a creative and innovative way that allow us to respond to the needs of companies in a highly changing, complex and globalized environment.
The training is aimed at the 21st century accountant, developing skills around leadership, teamwork, understanding management processes, negotiation, ability to interpret the economic context, decision-making. Articulated with the International Financial Reporting Standards – IFRS. With great strength in innovation and creativity, ability to analyze and interpret, the application of financial, tax and control regulations and with capacity for numerical analysis, attention to detail, judgment, empowerment, strategic vision for planning and organization , support for decision making, accounting research, and everything related to the soft skills that are currently required in knowing how to be.
The María Cano Public Accounting program trains professionals, taking into account that they will be the central axis of the organizations’ information systems, strengthening them with:
- A marked ethical training.
- Ability to analyze, design, evaluate and control information systems.
- Taking advantage of the advantages of new technologies.
- The ability to apply managerial leadership and negotiation processes.
- International projection.
- A clear environmental and social awareness.
- Professionals with knowledge in global economics, in tax and financial management.
- Information assurance and control.
- Strength in research.
The program has a specific line in innovation and entrepreneurship, financial management and control; as well as tax management. It has 8 semesters, strengthened with subjects that will develop the required competencies: Basic and specific competencies, giving great weight to the discipline of the public accountant, practices in simulation laboratories, accounting office, subjects in laboratories, risk analysis, among others.
The María Cano University Foundation congratulates the entire team of the Faculty of Business Sciences, the Public Accounting program, the students, professors, researchers, collaborators and graduates, who have been a fundamental part of this new achievement that speaks of quality in the work done, the relevance of the academic proposal and the importance of the program for the country and the world.
