The Popayán headquarters of the María Cano University Foundation, in its commitment to quality in research and as a contribution to the Research Group: Importance of the Movement in Human Development FISIOTER, shares with the academic community the publication of the article “Ultrasound elastography in the assessment of the stiffness of spastic muscles: a Systematic Review «, in the Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology Magazine, categorized by Scimago Journal & Country Rank (SJR) in Q1, in which the researcher Elizabeth Roldán González, Magister in Neurorehabilitation, is co-author.
The article arises from the collaborative work between the University of Cauca and the María Cano University Foundation around the shared interest in contributing to the advancement in the assessment of muscle spasticity and the prognosis in functional motor recovery in patients with nervous system disorders. The authors from the Universidad del Cauca are the Magister in Mechatronics Engineering Laura Daniela Ordierez Zúñiga and the PhD in Advanced Automation and Robotics Carlos Alberto Gaviria López.
Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology is the official journal of the World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology, publishing original contributions demonstrating a novel application of an existing ultrasound technology in clinical diagnosis, interventional and therapeutic applications, new and improved clinical techniques , among others, as can be seen in the official presentation of its website.
This is an important achievement for the Fisioter Group, for the Physiotherapy Program, for the Popayán headquarters and for the Institution in general.
