In the framework of the National Congress AMCI – Colombian Association of Critical Medicine and Intensive Care – held during the month of May, the poster entitled «Speech therapy in critical care in Colombia: Radiography in Bogotá and Cundinamarca» was presented, which obtained first place in the presentation. of the Intensive Care Therapy and Rehabilitation Poster. This great research work arises from the inter-institutional project developed in 2018 and called «Characteristics of Speech Therapy Practice in Critical Care Units in Colombia», carried out in conjunction with Higher Education Institutions: Ibero-American University Corporation, Santander University – DES , University of Sucre – UNISUCRE, University of Santiago de Cali – USC and the María Cano University Foundation.

This recognition rejoices the work team that committed itself to this action for the benefit of the community, since it strengthens the research contribution at the national level and consolidates the ties of friendship and inter-institutional work maintained by the speech therapy program of the María University Foundation. Cano with colleagues from other institutions in the country.

The María Cano Speech Therapy program is, by tradition, one of the most recognized in the country, due to its commitment to quality, the actions of its graduates, the skills of the teachers and the inter-institutional relations, which generate national visibility. and international. It is important to note that the program is now also present at the María Cano headquarters in Neiva, Popayán and Cali, in addition to the headquarters in the city of Medellín.
