The María Cano University Foundation is proud of the publication of an article in Global Pediatric Health magazine categorized by Scimago Journal Rank – SJR in Q1, available in the SAGE database. This is the result of a collaborative work developed between the University of Pamplona with the researcher Sonia Carolina Mantilla Toloza from the Physiotherapy program belonging to the GIPPAM group, the researcher Carlos Alberto Jaimes Guerrero from the English-French Foreign Languages program of the research group in Foreign Languages - GRILEX – and the researcher Piedad Rocío Lerma Castaño from the FISIOTER research group of the Institution with national presence in the cities of Medellín, Cali, Neiva, Popayán and the Mariacanovirtual campus.
The article called: Knowledge and Practices of Back Care, Experience in Colombian Children aimed to determine the knowledge and practices of back care in first grade schoolchildren, after applying an educational intervention aimed at back care in a group of children from 5 to 7 years old. The authors suggest the need to reinforce and implement this type of intervention within the framework of educational and public health policies, from the professional practice of physiotherapists and school teachers, which includes postural education in the school context during the first childhood and contribute to the prevention of back disorders in adulthood.
It is important to highlight that these achievements allow us to ensure the visibility and impact of the collaborative research of the two institutions thanks to the signing of cooperation agreements that have allowed us to develop an articulated work, with the purpose of reaching important indicators for the research groups , increase academic impact, and improve cohesion and cooperation rates.
