The II International Congress of Labor Rehabilitation will allow to update the knowledge in labor rehabilitation to favor the processes of reinstatement, relocation and reconversion of labor of workers who present occupational, common illness and work accidents. In addition to knowing the legal framework of the processes of reinstatement, relocation and reconversion of labor of workers who present occupational illness or accidents at work, identify critical variables in the labor rehabilitation process and promote effective practices for the reinstatement, relocation and Reconversion of labor of workers who present occupational, common disease and/or work accidents.
Labor rehabilitation as the process that seeks to restore the person with disabilities as well as possible in their functional, physical, mental, professional and occupational aspects is today the order of the day in all organizations. Workers with disabilities imply a challenge for their employers and contractors, who must guarantee their right that their way of earning a living does not disappear due to the mere fact of the change in their health conditions. Unfortunately, some employers and contractors are unaware of the basic notions of labor rehabilitation and therefore relegate those with disabilities to their homes, to non-productive or dehumanizing jobs. This congress will be a space to recognize the most important notions of labor rehabilitation, so that the participants can apply this knowledge on a day-to-day basis, making people with disabilities return to their jobs in a productive and dignified way without being a burden for their employers and contractors.
Within the framework of the II International Congress on Labor Rehabilitation, keynote speeches will be presented on the following thematic axes: a.) International and National legal framework for Labor rehabilitation, b.) Fundamental notions of disability, c.) Competences for reinstatement , relocation and reconversion of labor, d.) Articulation and functions of ARL-Company-EPS, e.) Work absenteeism, f.) Productivity in chronic illness, g.) Post-COVID labor rehabilitation and h.) Experiences of companies and ARLs.
The assistant, after carrying out the congress, will recognize the basic notions in terms of labor rehabilitation of people with disabilities, will understand the definition of disability as a social construction derived from the interaction between the health condition of people and the obstacles or facilities to those who face when exercising their rights and complying with their obligations, they will update their knowledge on labor rehabilitation to apply it in their organizations and they will know the legal framework of labor rehabilitation and the strategies to comply with it.
