A Key Milestone for the Psique & Sociedad Research Group
- 21 julio, 2025

The Psychology Program at Fundación Universitaria María Cano proudly celebrates the recent achievement of Professor and researcher Diana Vanessa Vivares Porras, M.A. and Ph.D. candidate, who has published two high-impact scientific articles in journals classified as Q1 and Q2 by the Scimago Journal Rank (SJR) system. This important step strengthens the international reach of the Psique & Sociedad research group and reaffirms the Psychology Program’s commitment to rigorous, critical, and socially transformative academic production.
The first article, titled «Synchronizing Plural Times: Relational Destinies to Face the Crisis of Temporal Tuning with the World,» was published in the renowned journal HALAC – Historia Ambiental Latinoamericana y Caribeña. In this piece, the author offers a profound reflection on the contemporary crisis in our relationship with the world and nature. From a temporal analytical perspective, she introduces the concept of Rhizomatic Temporal Tuning as a relational alternative to modern acceleration—one that allows for the integration of diverse durations and the preservation of otherness. This publication represents a significant contribution to current debates on temporality, ontology, and the relationships between humans and non-humans within the context of modernity.
The second article, titled «Remote Attractors: Mechanisms of Acceleration and Temporal Governance under Neoliberal and Algorithmic Rationality,» was published in the journal Psicoperspectivas. In this work, the researcher examines the mechanisms of temporal governance under neoliberal and algorithmic logics. Through a Foucauldian discourse analysis, she proposes the concept of «Remote Attractors»—mechanisms assisted by artificial intelligence that reorganize flows of thought, emotions, and consumption. This critical reflection invites readers to question the limitless self-acceleration of contemporary societies and its subjective implications.
These accomplishments are a source of pride for the academic community at Fundación Universitaria María Cano, which recognizes in Psique & Sociedad a research force deeply committed to critical thinking, methodological rigor, and social impact.
As further evidence of its institutional commitment to community-oriented research, Fundación Universitaria María Cano continues to strengthen academic spaces that promote the generation of knowledge relevant to current social contexts. By supporting its research groups and encouraging high-level publications, the institution reinforces its mission to actively contribute to the scientific, human, and ethical development of society.
