A new achievement in terms of publications by the Sumar and Fisioter groups
- 14 julio, 2023

Researchers from the María Cano University Foundation, PhD in engineering Natalia Isabel Jaramillo Gómez attached to the Sumar group, and Doctor in basic biomedical sciences Nelson Iván Cupitra attached to the Fisioter group, have recently published the article entitled: «Effect of synthesis on the antimicrobial response of β-TCP/Mg with potential applications in the regeneration of dental tissue: 3D printing of ceramic paste in a β-TCP/Mg/bioglass system” in the international journal Materials Letters.
This research work aimed to determine the most appropriate route for the printing of scaffolds with antimicrobial properties aimed at supporting bone regeneration in dental tissues. The results obtained were able to determine that the autocombustion route allows the generation of single-phase calcium phosphates from β-TCP, and that the antimicrobial activity of CP-C/Mg had a better effect against C. albicans. This allowed us to conclude that β-TCP/Mg/Bioglass scaffolds are promising as devices for dental tissue regeneration.
Materials Letters is a journal dedicated to publishing cutting-edge, innovative reports of great interest to the materials community. The publication provides a forum for materials scientists and engineers, physicists, and chemists to quickly communicate on the most important topics in the materials field.
