Achievements and progress of the University Foundation María Cano in the first semester of 2025
- 10 julio, 2025

One of the main initiatives led by Rector Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras has been the continuous monitoring of the performance of the various subsystems of the María Cano University Foundation. This monitoring includes its campuses in Medellín, Cali, Neiva, Popayán, and the Mariacanovirtual campus, and is carried out quarterly to support and guide the achievement of the goals established for each period. Additionally, the aim is to highlight the impact of these achievements within the strategic lines of the Development Plan, titled “Building the Future.” As part of this process, the Institution led a session to present the progress, challenges, and opportunities achieved through its institutional projects, which significantly contribute to Academic Quality, Engagement with the Environment, and Institutional Management during the first semester of 2025.
It is important to highlight the achievements obtained during the first six months of the year: 87.8% compliance was reached in the academic quality line, 84.4% in engagement with the environment, and 87.8% in institutional management within the 2025 work plan. These results reflect the commitment of all collaborators at the María Cano Foundation to meeting the established goals, which are essential for strengthening the positioning, recognition, visibility, growth, and sustainability of the institution—always in favor of higher education in Colombia.
Regarding goal compliance for the 2025 term, the weighted progress reached at the end of the first quarter was 46.6%. This outcome highlights the importance of the Comprehensive Quality Assurance System, which enables continuous monitoring of the Foundation’s operations and supports the various subsystems in achieving their objectives. Through this system, the Institution not only ensures ongoing oversight of its processes but also reinforces its commitment to transparency and continuous improvement.
This exercise is a key step toward the 2025 Social Balance, which will provide the first reports on progress and achievements. It will also serve as a fundamental input for the annual accountability process, where the results will be presented both to the university community and society at large, reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to institutional responsibility and transparency.
The María Cano University Foundation continues to move forward and grow in line with the projections set forth in its action plan.
