Articulated work with the municipality of La Estrella
- 29 marzo, 2022

In order to seek regional articulation mechanisms between the University, Business and State, which is known as the «triple helix model», the María Cano University Foundation, through a work team led by the Office of the Vice President for Extension, participated in a meeting of entrepreneurs from the industrial, commercial, services, agricultural and manufacturing sectors in the municipality of La Estrella, located in the south of Valle de Aburrá in the department of Antioquia. The objective of the work carried out was the formulation of financial, fiscal and economic policies for the collection of income and payment of obligations through taxes charged to the municipality, an activity led by the Ministry of Finance.
The María Cano University Foundation, through the work of the Vice Chancellor for Extension and Social Outreach, Carlos Julio Escobar Noreña, with the coordination of strategic and marketing projects, made an intervention on the day’s agenda to invite companies to be part of the Becas Ser Program, evidencing the importance of the contribution for the academic training of the new generations of Colombians, while presenting the benefits that they can access, where the business sector can see the economic return of this donation in the income statement.
These meetings allow rapprochement and enrich the relationship between the business sector and higher education, to make this great opportunity to support those seeking access to the different academic programs more visible; with tax benefits for donors.
At María Cano we continue to work, in an articulated manner, in the search for resources that allow students and new applicants the materialization of dreams and community well-being, through professional training.
