Awards of Scholarships for Academic Excellence

At the Medellín, Cali and Popayán campuses, the students who obtained the best academic results in the second semester of 2022 were exalted. The honorees on this occasion, in accordance with the provisions of the Academic Regulations, in Chapter XIII Incentives, Article 67, were in First place: Daniel Echeverri Carvajal from Physiotherapy Medellín, María Rebeca Vélez Montoya from Speech Therapy Medellín, María José Ayos Cabrales from Psychology, Johana Meliza Álvarez Jaramillo from Business Administration (face-to-face), María Camila Villegas Atehortúa Business Administration (virtual), María Paulina Cárdenas Henao from Public Accounting (face-to-face), Juan Pablo Ruíz Bonilla from Public Accounting (virtual), Miguel Antonio Restrepo Arismendy from Software Engineering, Lina María Aristizábal from Physiotherapy Cali, Tatiana Julieth Cometa Ibáñez from Physiotherapy Popayán, Briyith Ospina Velasco from Speech Therapy Popayan.
For second place: Laura Sofía Zapata Velásquez from Physiotherapy Medellín, Sanly Johana Prada Galeano from Speech Therapy Medellín, Juan Pablo Mejía Mejía from Psychology, Manuela Ayala Moreno from Business Administration (face-to-face), Vanessa Medina Balbín from Business Administration (virtual), Miguel Ángel Upegui from Public Accounting (face-to-face), Juliana Vélez Puerta from Public Accounting (virtual) and Susana Ríos Tabares from Software Engineering.
For third place: Natalia Guarín Muñoz from Physiotherapy Medellín, Jessica Alejandra Mazo Ocampo from Speech Therapy Medellín, María Alejandra Yepes Pavony from Psychology, Gilbert Alexander Navarro Roldán from Business Administration (virtual), Jonny Alexander Aristizábal from Public Accounting (in person), Natalia Andrea Vásquez Ruíz from Public Accounting (virtual) and Maicol Andrés Betancur Suaza from Software Engineering.
The act from Medellín and with national transmission was led by the rector Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras, the vice rectors Jorge Albeiro Herrera Builes and Calos Julio Escobar Noreña; as well as the office coordinators Angélica María Zuluaga Calle and Néstor Alonso Perlaza Ruíz. The Superior Council defined the percentage on the payment of tuition fees that is granted as an incentive to the three undergraduate students who achieve the best academic averages as follows: for the first place the 100% exemption, for the second place the exemption of 50% and for third place the exemption of 30%.
For the election of the winners, the Faculty Councils proceeded to issue a concept to the Rectory, after verification of the requirements and analysis of the academic and disciplinary history of the students selected to grant the Scholarship for Academic Excellence.
