Collaborative research analyzes Burnout syndrome in health workers
- 23 octubre, 2025

The research professors Diana Paola Montealegre Suárez, Maira Alejandra Camargo Valderrama, and the director of the Neiva campus, Diana María Salazar Rojas, proudly share their most recent publication in the journal Medicina y Seguridad en el Trabajo, titled “Burnout Syndrome Associated with Occupational Characteristics of Health Workers.”
This study also involved faculty members from various disciplines affiliated with the Fundación Escuela Tecnológica de Neiva, Jesús Oviendo Pérez, and the Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD) — institutions with which María Cano maintains interinstitutional cooperation agreements. This collaboration strengthens research groups, promotes interdisciplinary work, and consolidates academic and scientific ties among the participating institutions.
The study’s findings represent a significant contribution to the understanding of the occupational factors influencing Burnout Syndrome among healthcare personnel, as they reveal the relationship between job characteristics and emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment. These results provide valuable insights for designing institutional strategies aimed at promoting psychosocial well-being, managing work-related stress, and preventing disorders associated with high-demand healthcare environments.
