Commitment and teamwork with SENA in Huila

Through the special cooperation framework agreement, signed between the María Cano University Foundation and the National Learning Service – Sena, a commission of the Institution at the Neiva headquarters had the opportunity to meet with the management team of the public establishment in Colombia that offers free training to millions of nationals, through its Huila Regional Director, Cándido Herrera González. Among the possibilities, scopes and projects to be followed in the short term, are those associated with the professional training chain, which seeks to promote academic mobility of Sena apprentices and graduates of technical and technological levels, through the homologation process to continue with the professional cycle at María Cano.
A dissemination mechanism was also established so that civil servants with an administrative career, free appointment and removal, as well as official workers and their families, can access postgraduate and undergraduate training under preferential conditions, which contributes directly to the consolidation of a population that has high academic and administrative standards that contributes to the reactivation of Colombia and the world.
This meeting also established the bases for the management of joint research projects and the use of the laboratories and infrastructures of both institutions in the region. The agreement signed by both institutions is valid for 5 years.
The María Cano commission was made up of: Diana María Salazar Rojas, Coordinator of the Neiva headquarters; Piedad Rocío Lerma Castaño, Neiva Research Leader; Viviana Caicedo Delgado, Leader of institutional well-being Neiva; and Carlos Julio Escobar Noreña, Vice-rector for Extension and Social Projection.
