Commitment and work with the Unit for Victims

As part of the current letter of understanding signed by the María Cano University Foundation with the Unit for Attention and Comprehensive Reparation for Victims, which seeks to generate opportunities for this population in the country, a meeting was held led by the Vice Chancellor for Extension and Social Projection, Carlos Julio Escobar and the Coordinator of Strategic Projects Gonzalo López, which marks a new stage of development of the relationship between the two institutions. A relationship activity that had as its primary objective the expansion of actions to enable the conditions of access to higher education by the population of victims.
Other points that were established in the work plan were: generating mechanisms that increase the socialization of the existing possibilities for this population and their participation in institutional programs and campaigns, collaborating and presenting proposals for joint projects with external financing to support the population victim of the conflict, identify the population of students and graduates of the Institution that has undertaken business actions and that is in the single registry of victims in order to develop options for them.
On behalf of the Unit for Comprehensive Care and Reparation for Victims, the following were present: Javier Ignacio Aguilar Gómez, a specialized professional; Margarita Guillén Rodelo, specialized professional; Carolina Correa León, university professional; Luz Edilma Barrientos Daza, liaison for the entrepreneurship group and the cooperation and strategic alliances group; as well as Sara Melissa González Palacio, planning professional.
The María Cano University Foundation is a higher education institution that is committed to access to higher education for the entire population, regardless of social class or socioeconomic strata, which has students from different regions of the country and that follows the proposal and the legacy of María de los Ángeles Cano Márquez, of bringing quality education to the entire population in the country, as a fundamental right.
