Commitment to the Amethyst Network in Huila

The María Cano University Foundation, Neiva headquarters, with the leadership of coordinator Diana María Salazar Rojas, signed the government ordinance within the framework of the strategy called: «Huila grows without fear or violence», where the launch of the Network took place. Amatista, a care and prevention route to support women victims of gender-based violence, which operates in coordination with the departmental government headed by engineer Luis Enrique Dussán, through the Secretariat of Women, Family and Social Inclusion of the Huila. The academy is present with the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, the Universidad Surcolombiana, the Universidad Antonio Nariño and the María Cano University Foundation as pioneers in providing advice in the legal, psychological, physiotherapy and speech therapy areas, for women and their families.
The Institution continues to strengthen at the departmental and municipal level, being an institutional reference that contributes to government plans and public health policies, supporting the development of sustainable objectives, especially the third, which is the one focused on health and well-being of the entire community. The development of this type of work, articulated with public and private entities of the municipality and the department of Huila, allows the visibility of María Cano as a solid educational institution that contributes to the development of the South Colombian region.
