María Cano joins the campaign led by the Youth Secretariat of Medellín to ensure, in the context of the health emergency facing the country due to the covid-19 pandemic, for the well-being of young people in the Antioquia capital, through different actions framed in the activity: Public health – Institutional Incidence – Young Weavers of Life. In this way, the professors and students of the Psychology program attend in the form of Remote Health Care to those who require support and accompaniment to overcome the difficult moments that have arisen in this 2020.
The Secretary of Youth of Medellín, Alejandro Matta Herrera, visited the María Cano facilities, keeping all the biosafety protocols, where he was received by the Rector, Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras, the Vice-rector for Extension and Social Projection, Carlos Julio Escobar Noreña and the Director of Psychology, Andrés Londoño Vélez. The objective of the meeting is to continue with the accompaniment and commitment process that has characterized the Higher Education Institution so that young people in the training process continue to put their knowledge into practice to accompany those who need support and advice.
The Youth Secretary of the Antioquia capital highlighted the importance of working through young people who can speak the same language as those who require their leadership, with simplicity and clarity when speaking. Likewise, he praised María Cano’s commitment to the city and the community. For his part, the Rector expressed the respect that the Institution feels for the projects carried out by the municipal administration, where the commitment with the city to continue in its growth and development is evident.
