Comprehensive Care Initiative Strengthens Human-Centered Education and Social Commitment
- 13 mayo, 2026
Fundación Universitaria María Cano, Popayán campus, experienced a day marked by gratitude, learning, and social commitment through a comprehensive care initiative dedicated to the Sisters of the Vincentian community, women who have devoted their lives to serving and caring for others.
The initiative involved students from the Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Nutrition and Dietetics programs, who participated in real-life care experiences that strengthened their academic, professional, and human competencies through direct interaction with patients and community settings.
During the activity, students applied knowledge related to health promotion, comprehensive well-being, and interdisciplinary support, while understanding the importance of human-centered care grounded in empathy, respect, and compassion.
Experiences like this allow learning to go beyond the classroom, fostering social awareness, collaborative work, and the development of professionals committed to responding to community needs and contributing to social transformation.
The initiative also served as a recognition of the invaluable role of those who have historically dedicated their lives to caring for others, reaffirming the importance of promoting well-being for those who continuously serve society.
Through activities like this, Fundación Universitaria María Cano continues to strengthen its commitment to social outreach, promoting learning experiences with a human-centered approach and contributing to the education of well-rounded professionals dedicated to community service.
