Conference on science, movement and research in Cali

At the María Cano University Foundation, in the capital of Valle del Cauca, the science, movement and research day is held, corresponding to the second semester of the year, in order to promote and demonstrate the important work that is carried out from the classroom of class, with students and teachers, to guide the actions and healthy recreation in practices in companies, to generate healthy lifestyle habits.
This activity seeks to promote and show the research results that have been achieved during the semester, while strengthening student learning by facilitating and expanding knowledge for future degree work through the achievements in the different scenarios of practice.
The participating young students presented their work to the attendees, through:
Research assistant:
- Educational inclusion strategies for students with disabilities in higher education.
- Variability of the excursion and thickness of the diaphragm muscle in sedentary people and people who perform physical activity: an exploratory review.
- Health professionals with disabilities who perform from their professional role: Systematic review.
- Cardiovascular risk and stress.
Classroom Research:
- STEM is the methodology that proposes to teach science, technology, and mathematics in an integrated way with a systematic and comprehensive conception of the different types of knowledge. In mathematics, STEM education allows the creation of a global and real vision of knowledge in order to achieve a greater understanding of it.
- Accompaniment to Micro-enterprises in the City of Cali and the Metropolitan Area from Safety and Health at Work.
- A community diagnosis and an approach from health promotion and disease prevention were made.
Research in practice:
- Design of a Healthy Life Habits Program for the workers of the Alumina company.
- Functional condition and quality of life in the post-Covid19 elderly patient in the hospital setting.
- Sensitization process for the proper use of PPE in workers of a drug manufacturing company.
- Cardiovascular risk level in operational workers at the Plasticaucho company in Colombia.
- Pulmonary cystic fibrosis in children, physiotherapeutic approach.
- Evaluation and intervention guide for physical qualities in skaters of the Luz Mery Tristán Sports Center.
- Musculoskeletal risk factors associated with ankle sprains in ballet dancers in Cali, 2022.
- Effects of physical exercise in patients with neuromuscular disease in the hospital setting.
In this way, the students of María Cano, Cali campus, deliver the results of their knowledge to the community, where the commitment to teamwork, with professors and researchers, is evident, so that the work carried out in the classroom and in practice centers are always at the service of the community in Valle del Cauca, which once again demonstrates the social projection of the university community.
