In preparation for “Science in the Park,” representatives from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the department of Cauca gathered at the Departmental Secretariat of Education in downtown Popayán to advance the organization of this important scientific and cultural initiative.

The meeting saw active participation from the María Cano University Foundation, Popayán campus, as well as other universities that are part of the Cauca Research Network (La Mesa de Investigación del Cauca) and ASIES Cauca. Delegates from the Cauca Governor’s Office and the Secretariat of Education were also present, reaffirming the institutional commitment to strengthening knowledge in the region.

During the meeting, key topics were discussed regarding the execution of the event, which will take place on September 24, 25, and 26. The session served as a space to coordinate efforts, share ideas, and define strategies to ensure a meaningful experience for all attendees.

“Science in the Park” aims to bring science, technology, and innovation closer to the community through playful, interactive, and educational activities. It is especially geared toward children, youth, teachers, and research groups, promoting interest in science from an inclusive and participatory perspective.

It is important to note that the call for project submissions will remain open until August 22. The organizing institutions invite the entire community to stay tuned and actively participate in this celebration of knowledge, which is just around the corner.
