- 18 noviembre, 2024

Professor Mariutsi Alexandra Osorio Sanabria from the Software Engineering program attended the 5th United Nations World Data Forum (UNWDF 2024) in representation of Fundación Universitaria María Cano. The event was held in the city of Medellín.
This forum is the most important event for the international data and statistics community and is held every two years in different countries. It brings together experts in data and statistics from governments, civil society, the private sector, national and international agencies, the media, and academia. The forum serves as a key space for sharing experiences in the field of statistics and data. It aims to drive innovation, foster strategic partnerships, mobilize political and financial support, and pave the way for more robust data for sustainable development.
On the third day of the forum’s agenda, Mariutsi participated in the panel titled “Government Data and Research Data: Convergence and Divergence,” a session led by the Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation of Colombia, Yesenia Olaya Requene. The panel provided a space to discuss the significance of research data, its infrastructure and management needs, in comparison to open government data.
