- 4 febrero, 2026
The faculty researchers Silvia Patricia Betancur Bedoya, Elizabeth Roldán González, and Lina Giccela Suárez Muñoz, members of the FISIOTER research group at Fundación Universitaria María Cano, participated in the publication of the article Context-focused interventions versus traditional motor therapies on occupational performance in children with cerebral palsy: a systematic review with meta-analysis, in the international journal Retos, classified as Q1 according to the SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) (Vol. 76, 2026).
The article is the result of a collaborative research project involving the researchers Claudia Fernanda Giraldo Jiménez (Universidad Santiago de Cali), Eunice Yarce Pinzón (Universidad Mariana), Nidia Johana Arias Becerra (Universidad CES), and Karina González Zúñiga (Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, Mexico).
The study corresponds to a systematic review with meta-analysis comparing the effectiveness of context-focused interventions versus traditional motor therapies. The results show relevant benefits in occupational performance, particularly in perception and satisfaction regarding meaningful activities, highlighting the value of therapeutic approaches oriented toward participation and environmental adaptation.
This achievement strengthens the research projection of the FISIOTER group and reaffirms the institutional commitment of Fundación Universitaria María Cano to the generation of knowledge applied to pediatric rehabilitation.
