Educational tour with the Comuna Project Social Innovation Laboratory

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit and the Business Administration Program develop significant experiential pedagogical strategies that invite students to learn, outside the classroom, in spaces that promote entrepreneurship and innovation. It is for this reason that the Unit and In alliance with the Comuna Project social innovation laboratory of the Commune 13 of Medellin, activities are being generated according to the training needs of the curriculum. Twenty students from the International Business course and two professors from the Business Administration program participated in the first Innovation and Entrepreneurship Trek, identifying new local businesses created in the commune through its transformation and from the generation of innovative ideas from according to the real needs of its context.
The visit was developed in a single day in the following two moments:
- First moment: immersion in the community with an educational purpose in which Comuna Project, through material designed by its social innovation laboratory with key data and anecdotes, discloses all the information so that students know and understand how their line of study It serves the community to achieve and improve the challenges and realities raised, this through the tour of the place in which the impact generated by tourism in the territory can be evidenced and analyzed.
- Second moment: experiential activity in which the students made a graphic representation with material from their perception in the immersion, ending with the socialization of their experience to their classmates and teachers.
María Cano is committed to new experiences that contribute to knowledge and contact with other institutions that allow the interaction of the university community in the different contexts that promote and foster entrepreneurship and innovation.
