The undergraduate and postgraduate students of the María Cano University Foundation at the Medellín campus, who met all the academic and administrative requirements, met with their family and friends to celebrate obtaining the professional degree. The ceremony took place at the Plaza Mayor Exhibition and Convention Center in the capital of Antioquia. Professionals in Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Psychology, Business Administration, Public Accounting, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering and International Business, as well as Specialists in Occupational Health Management, Senior Management, Project Management and Evaluation, and in Quality in Health.

During the ceremony, the words of the Physiotherapy graduate, Brayam Alexandro Agudelo Marín, were highlighted, who highlighted that «Thanks to each one of the professors, colleagues and workers, because what makes this institution great is the human talent that makes it up, and makes of this one of the most outstanding, for the human quality of its representatives and this cohort of graduates will surely not be the exception and will leave the name of our university high because although many of us will be able to represent other institutions through a work relationship, we will always have a a brand that we should be proud of”.

For his part, the rector, Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras, took advantage of the ceremony to congratulate the graduates and their families for the great moment they achieved with graduation; while inviting all citizens to freely participate in the democratic days that will be held in the country to elect the next president of Colombia. “I want to make a call for free democratic participation, in peace and in the midst of deep respect for those who think differently from us… I have always recognized that it is laudable, that the community wants to demonstrate and demand of the rulers, who are chosen by us themselves, a change in the course of the country; It is respectable that they want to request restructuring in the public administration, that decisions be made where the privileged one is the common citizen. Therefore, the best way to express our desire is to freely inform ourselves about the different proposals of the candidates for the presidency and make a conscientious decision, whatever it may be, but that demonstrate the importance of participating freely in this upcoming electoral process.

We cannot think of community from hatred, from resentment, from revenge, from selfishness, from arrogance or from the desire to destroy… A community is built by thinking as a team, with the desire to advance, with the desire to share and having clear that our rights are undeniably linked to our duties. We have in our democracy mechanisms to defend our rights, to punish the corrupt, to demand our rulers and to elect those who want to build a country. It is our decision, it is your decision, do not negotiate it, do not act as if it were not with you, each one of us is a fundamental part of the solution and none is more important than all of us together”.
