First Center of the San Javier Software Valley

Leaders of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Units that belong to Meune – University Board of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and in which the María Cano University Foundation actively participates, work in the First Software Valley Center located in the San Javier neighborhood, depending on grant compliance to the table’s value proposal, which seeks to connect and articulate the work of Higher Education Institutions that promote entrepreneurship and innovation in the region with the different actors of the ecosystem to generate knowledge and tools that allow to enhance the capabilities of entrepreneurs.
In this sense, the attendees developed their plenary session in the facilities of this first of the 21 centers that will take Route N to each of the communes and townships of the city of Medellín, an activity that aims to make the city a benchmark region in the development of Industry 4.0 and thus promote digital transformation, the evolution of the economic vocation, the creation of more and better technology-based enterprises and increased employability. The services of this center are available to the entire community in general: entrepreneurs, businessmen, students, graduates, teachers and other citizens who wish to make use of the technological equipment, the prototyping laboratory, the creativity laboratory, the work areas , the spaces for support in the creation and strengthening of technology-based business units and all the programmatic offerings that this center offers and promotes.
The offer and support for each of the interested business initiatives is carried out from the level of maturity of the same, where the entrepreneurs and their ventures will be able to find different experiences regarding the following components:
- Promotion and culture
- Accompaniment of undertakings
- Associative mechanisms
- Business formalization
- Scaling and connections
- Specialized support for enterprises with high growth potential
Additionally, the attendees learned about the business simulators and the experience with them that the María Cano University Foundation is promoting from the Financial and Accounting Administrative Office in the training and business processes of its academic community, thus allowing to measure and enhance managerial and business skills thereof. In turn, these simulators allow implementing business games involving people in training and generating a positive experience, being able to put into practice the knowledge acquired in realistic and safe environments.
