First educational innovation laboratory in health sciences programs

Within the framework of the research project “Laboratory of educational innovation in health sciences programs of the María Cano University Foundation”, the Popayán headquarters led the opening ceremony of the first group of projects in Open Digital Educational Resources, which as a pilot project is developed with professors of the health sciences programs at the headquarters in the capital of Cauca.
Adopting the conceptualization of educational innovation of the Ministry of National Education, which refers to the set of strategies, methods, methodologies and techniques that promote the pedagogical use of technologies and other tools to support teaching, the construction of knowledge, the quality of learning, motivation for research and innovation in future professionals (Portal Colombia Learn, 2020), from the project, it is proposed to generate this space called: «Educational innovation laboratory» to promote the progressive, systematic and planned incorporation of transformative, innovative, creative concepts, dynamics and practices aimed at generating improvements in processes and products, both in teaching and learning, in order to build knowledge with a level of excellence in a collaborative, interdisciplinary, creative manner and with a glocal vision.
The opening ceremony included a greeting and installation of the observatory by Angélica María Zuluaga Calle, Coordinator of the Popayán headquarters; Dr. Julián Andrés Caicedo, Vice Chancellor of Research of the Autonomous University Corporation of Cauca, as an allied institution; Professor Luz Marina Chalapud Narváez, external advisor who drives the laboratory; as well as Elizabeth Roldán González, professor and researcher of the Physiotherapy program and member of the Fisioter Group as representative of the research team that leads the project, in which participate: María Fernanda Ortiz Cabrera, professor of the Physiotherapy program and member of the Fisioter Group and Beatriz Elena Arias, pedagogical advisor and researcher of the Psyche and Society Research Group of the María Cano University Foundation.
In addition to the installation, two central presentations were oriented:
- DesignThinking: led by PhD. PhD. Javier Contreras Ruiz. Bachelor of computer science. Master in Computer Science and Master in Educational Administration. Doctor in Strategic Planning and Technology Management. Professor at the Tecnológico de Orizaba and the Universidad Veracruzana de México.
- REDA Strategy. Guided by Mg. Claudia Patricia Vásquez Lopera. Graduate in Computer Teaching. Master in education and human development. Specialist in pedagogy for virtuality. Professor and researcher on virtual education and ICT issues, head of virtuality at the María Cano University Foundation.
The event had 60 attendees, among whom the participation of 14 professors (promoters), 8 Mentors (experts from Mexico, Venezuela and Colombia), 27 Collaborators registered to date stands out, since the call is still open (students, professionals with expertise in the topics, who participate as external and internal guests).
