With the aim of encouraging and promoting the care and protection of fauna in the department of Huila, the coordinator of María Cano in the city of Neiva, Diana María Salazar Rojas, participated in the academic and socialization activity, where she also The social projection table of the department and the municipal authority of that city were present, with the objective of analyzing the current conditions in which the wetlands of the region are found, as well as the important places in the conservation of the flora and fauna of this important area of ​​Colombia.

The speakers discussed the poor conditions in which these pillars for conservation are found, the loss of species and the consequences that this entails for the community, mentioning the causes of this problem. The space allowed students, teachers, collaborators and external personnel who participated to clarify concerns, provide ideas for solutions and contribute their knowledge regarding the topic.

During the forum, higher education entities from the region participated, such as the Surcolombiana University, the Huila University Corporation – CORHUILA, the Alto Magdalena Regional Autonomous Corporation, the Minuto de Dios University and the Cooperative University of Colombia .
