This November 10 in the morning hours, the LEAMOS Academic Reading and Writing Center will hold the first virtual national meeting «Realities and Challenges for Speech Therapy in the Field of Reading and Writing». The event seeks to offer a space for reflection that encourages the generation of new understandings, from a holistic view of these social practices inherent to the academy. In this sense, one of the goals is aimed at giving voice to different theoretical realities, for which there will be the participation of professionals with extensive experience in the subject. In this way, we will have the participation of academics from different areas of the country who will share with us the following presentations:

• The fear of reading and writing. Dr Alexander Hincapie Garcia. San Buenaventura University of Medellin.
• Phonoaudiological intervention in children with specific difficulties in learning to write. Esp. Pierina Almario Carrillo. University of Pamplona.
• Realities and Challenges for Speech Therapy in the field of reading and writing. mg. Hector Ivan Guerrero Jimenez. Maria Cano University Foundation.
• Correlation of Reading Comprehension Level with Academic Performance in University Students and strategies to improve reading comprehension. Dr. Yadira Paba Orta and Dr. Rosa Maribel Galeano Quintero. University of Santander.
• Writing, a creative practice in the subject Reading and writing at the university. mg. Maria Camila Celis Castiblanco. University of Ibagué and University of Tolima.

Thus, reflecting on reading and writing represents a challenge for people who are interested in the subject, in which they have to face the apathy, ignorance and lack of will present in many academic sectors, for which, It is hoped that this space will be an opportunity for the participants to generate new connections that not only strengthen interest, but also begin to develop new ways of addressing the problems outlined in reading and writing.

The Leamos program invites speech therapy professionals in practice and training, and other professionals interested in the subject to participate in this meeting.
