The professors of the program, assigned to the Popayán headquarters, Specialization in Public Health: Juan Eduardo Guerrero and Jorge Sotelo Daza, participated between September 9 and 13, 2024 in the city of Medellín in the strategy to strengthen health management. governance in the departments and the formation of Comprehensive and Integrated and Territorial Health Networks RIITS. The exercise was led by health professionals from different regions of Colombia in conjunction with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Pan American Health Organization, the World Health Organization, the Colombian Association of Public Health and the Andalusian School of Public Health.

The strategy proposes two projects, on the one hand, academic support for institutional strategies, in order to propose a model of academic support for the development and implementation of institutional strategies for the formation of RIITS. On the other hand, establish the way of implementation of Governance in RIITS and organize the management process of the Health Services Provision Network with the actors involved and identify priority areas of intervention.

The Specialization in Public Health generates competencies for the evaluation of the individual and collective health situation, the formulation, management and implementation of public health policies and public health interventions, according to local, national and international jurisdiction from various organizations of the S.G.S.S.S. and intersectoral actions in the family and social environment, complementing curative efforts with a significant and growing number of actions to promote and maintain health.
