Good practices in internationalization #MásMaríaCano

Professor Ricardo León Sánchez Arenas, from the Business Administration program and a researcher from the SUMAR Group, together with Professor Jorge Guadalupe Mendoza León, from the Technological Institute of Sonora – ITSON, Mexico, participated successfully in the III Meeting of Good Practices in Internationalization of Higher Education. The participation was in two moments, a presentation on November 16 and a discussion on November 18. In this event, Latin American Higher Education Institutions attended: Mexico, Cuba, Argentina, Chile, Nicaragua, among others, in their participation, the attendees highlighted the quality of the strategies and products obtained from this international relationship, highlighting: the mirror classes, international events, publications, double degree initiatives between both institutions and the possibility of generating a master’s program between both HEIs, all in a pandemic context.
The initiatives of the professors promote the internationalization of the teaching, research, extension and social projection processes of both institutions. As a key to success, the professors highlighted the fact of having the support of the authorities of both institutions, as well as promoting long-term relationships that allow all internationalization initiatives to mature.
The Colombian Network for the Internationalization of Higher Education – RCI – highlights on its website, about this meeting that: «It is an initiative of the Colombian Network for the Internationalization of Higher Education, Network Attached to ASCUN, which has two versions The first was held in March 2019 and the second in June 2020. These meetings have had the participation of IES from different cities in the country.
The purpose of the event is to generate a space for the socialization of good practices and significant experiences in the internationalization process, for the administrative and academic communities of the HEIs.
The Good Practices constitute a documented institutional experience, which respond to specific needs and objectives, and which, due to the results achieved, has proven to be effective in improving or refining a given context, allowing it to be replicated in other settings.
This third version, which will be carried out in virtual format, preserves the purpose of generating a space for the dissemination of good experiences in internationalization, favoring replicability, monitoring and sustainability in other HEIs. This year the Ibero-American Manual of Good Practices in Internationalization of the Organization of Ibero-American States – OEI has been taken as a baseline».
