- 27 agosto, 2021

The María Cano University Foundation, at the headquarters located in the capital of Huila, managed to reach 2 places in the Program + Mujer + Ciencia + Equidad, an initiative of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, the Science and Culture (OEI). Graduates Natali Rendón Galves and María Helena Audor González were selected from a group of 10,000 Colombian women to position them as generators of changes in the construction of more equitable societies, based on knowledge, that contribute to the development of their geographical contexts.
The program seeks to encourage the scientific vocation in young women and strengthen their life project through connection, empowerment and leadership, seeking their insertion in the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation – SNCTI. Natali and María Helena are the example to follow for many of the students who are part of the research hotbeds, since these were their beginnings in their research training, which has allowed them to achieve many academic, professional and personal achievements taking into account who, throughout their undergraduate training, were part of the research seedbeds achieving national endorsements as the best presentation and in 2019 they obtained a scholarship-internship for young researchers and innovators from Huila, in Call 856 of Minciencias, with resources from the General Royalties System, where they developed two research projects that were advised by the research professors Gladys Tamayo Perdomo and Piedad Rocío Lerma Castaño, who fulfilled the role of tutors, and with the research professor Elizabeth Roldán González, from the Popayán campus, as interlocutor of the projects before the governing body of research in Colombia.
These results identify us by the work carried out from the research seedbeds, which have an impact on the training of our students, to be better professionals, thereby materializing the institutional work within the framework of the substantive and missionary functions of our María Cano.
