Thanks to the work that has been led in recent years, with the undergraduate and postgraduate programs, which have their actions on the Mariacanovirtual campus, the María Cano University Foundation is now part of the board of directors of the Colombian Association of Higher Education Institutions with Distance Programs – Acesad. A non-profit organization, of an educational and cultural nature, that carries out activities throughout the national territory, that works for higher education institutions, distance and virtual, through scientific, technological, research and cultural cooperation, which allow to consolidate strategies that allow the constant qualification of the community through academic programs in the different modalities, that allow the qualification of the inhabitants of the country.

At the XXIX Ordinary General Assembly, which took place in the city of Bogotá, María Cano was welcomed to this important association, which was represented by the rector Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras and the head of virtuality Claudia Patricia Vásquez Lopera. The Institution committed to this new challenge to contribute to the quality strategies of distance and virtual higher education programs, participate in spaces for scientific, technological and cultural cooperation that lead to achieving excellence in higher education programs through distance and virtual and to contribute to the expansion of educational coverage in the country through quality virtual programs.

On its website, Acesad highlights that its vision is: «To be a dynamic organization with a presence throughout the national territory that, through cooperation processes, supports all universities, control bodies, self-regulation and accreditation of higher education distance and virtual, aimed at positioning and national and international recognition of this modality.It will be a leader in the training of human talent through teaching, social projection and research, which enables the training of a new citizen, committed to the development human and social.

For the María Cano University Foundation it is an honor and a great commitment to be part of this Association.
