The Interdisciplinary Case plenary was successfully held in which the situation of a “Práctica III” (Internship III) patient with «SCN 1B Canalopathy » was presented. The eighth semester student Juan Daniel Sánchez Valencia, with the support of some interdisciplinary professionals’ team, such as geneticist María Amparo Acosta and neuropediatrician Alberto Bladimir Zambrano, socialized the case. Other professionals participated during the academic activity, analyzed the case, and provided intervention strategies from their own specialties:

• Otolaryngologist doctor, Diego Alfonso Velasco
• Phonoaudiologist, Adriana Sánchez, specialized in Child Language Intervention
• Phonoaudiologist, Sonia Esperanza Illeras, a prosthetic audiologist
• Psychiatry specialist, Juanita Muñoz
• Occupational therapist and specialist in Physical and Sports Activity and Health Quality, Carolina Rosero León

This important meeting for the university community also had the participation of the patient’s relatives in order to learn a little more about the pathology and possible intervention processes. During the academic work the members of Maria Cano were provided to obtain a perspective from other intervention processes of the different professionals assistants, in the same way it was shown the need for interdisciplinary work to have success and rehabilitate the patients.

By doing these activities, the physiotherapy program in Campus Popayan continues to consolidate its work for quality and social projection.
