High quality physiotherapy in Valle and Cauca

The Ministry of National Education issued Resolutions No. 007572 and No. 007573 of May 8, 2023 by which it grants High Quality Accreditations to the Physiotherapy programs of the María Cano University Foundation at the Cali and Popayán campuses respectively.
The National Accreditation Council, in its comprehensive evaluation, after analyzing the self-evaluations carried out by the Institution and the external evaluation reports carried out by renowned academic peers who visited the programs, recommended to the Ministry of National Education the accreditation of the Physiotherapy programs in the city of Medellín and Business Administration face-to-face modality in Medellín, which shows that they have achieved quality levels so that, in accordance with the regulations that govern, the High Quality Accreditation is granted.
The National Accreditation Council – CNA – exalted fundamental issues that highlight the actions of the programs and of María Cano, such as:
- A serious, coherent and aligned work, strategically from the annualized action plan of the headquarters and programs with the Educational Project of the Programs, the Institutional Development Plan 2017 – 2026 «Building the Future» and the Institutional Educational Project .
- The processes of selection, qualification and retention of teaching talent that supports the actions of the programs and the growth in the process of ranking.
- Dropout levels below the national average rate and the support program for the university community “I love you at the U”.
- The relationship with graduates and support in improvement processes
- The results in the Saber Pro state tests.
- Social projection through teaching, research and extension services, as well as welfare services, social research and health days that are accompanied in the departments of Valle and Cauca to benefit the community of the different social strata.
- Agreements with practice centers and strategic allies, always focused on social projection as the central axis of social projection.
- Ongoing training programs, extension and the offer of postgraduate courses to advance the constant improvement of professionals.
- The work led by the Fisioter research group and by the research seedbeds.
- The publications of professors and researchers that show the institutional and program visibility.
- The growing physical infrastructure, the acquisition and renewal of support equipment for academic training, laboratories, computer rooms and the different institutional scenarios for professional training.
- The internationalization of academic programs and participation in internships inside and outside the country.
- Institutional welfare coordinated at the national level.
- An impeccable management of the financial resources that support the institutional actions.
The rector Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras, the vice rectors Jorge Albeiro Herrera Builes and Carlos Julio Escobar Noreña; the dean Amilbia Palacios Córdoba, the coordinators of the offices in Cali and Popayán, Néstor Alonso Perlaza Ruiz and Angélica María Zuluaga Calle, express their great satisfaction for this recognition of the high quality of these Physiotherapy programs, while ratifying the unwavering institutional commitment with the quality.
The María Cano University Foundation is currently awaiting the results of visits made by advisors from the National Accreditation Council to the Neiva Physiotherapy, Medellín Speech Therapy and Psychology programs in the capital of Antioquia.
