Hosts of the dialogues to transform the quality of higher education

With deep joy, the María Cano University Foundation received the collective, academic and reflective dialogue carried out by the Ministry of National Education of Colombia with the various actors that are part of the health programs of the Higher Education Institutions in the departments of Antioquia, Chocó and the Coffee Region, with the objective of identifying the main alternatives to provide an effective response to requests for qualified registration of health programs. A participatory diagnosis that allows us to understand the realities of the different national contexts and initiate an efficient, transparent process, with speed and clarity.
During the activity, which brought together academic leaders from the academic programs of the health programs of different regional institutions, a dialogue was generated for a collective construction to improve the quality of education in Colombia focused on the area of health in relation with the qualified registration request and the response from the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Health.
The current state of the needs of human talent in health in the country was reviewed in terms of the relationship: supply – demand – sufficiency; At the same time, the regulatory framework of application to the different higher education programs in the health areas of competence of the Health and Wellbeing room of CONACES was looked at. Finally, a situational and participatory, coherent and updated analysis of the problems identified by the different actors, the proposed strategies and the desired changes was worked on in a logical model, for the improvement of existing practices, regulatory adjustments and other findings, which allows improving the quality of higher education in the areas of health.
The work was led by:
- Mr. José Ignacio Morales Huetio, Director of Quality for Higher Education, with the analysis of the current state of the Qualified Registration process in programs in the health areas from the Ministry of National Education.
- Mr. Jorge Eliecer Botero-López, Member of the Health and Wellbeing Chamber of CONACES, with the challenges in the Qualified Registration process for health programs, difficulties and opportunities for change.
- Mrs. Edilma Marlén Suárez, from the Ministry of Health, Directorate of Training of Human Talent in Health – Ministry of Health and Social Protection, with the presentation on the relevance of health programs, in favor of transparency, autonomy and quality of training .
The activity was aimed at Rectors of HEIs that have programs in the area of health and psychology, academic Vice-Chancellors, those responsible for quality and the Qualified Registration process of health programs, deans or program directors of the faculties of health sciences. , responsible for the teaching-service relationship, associations of faculties in the health area, IPS and other actors linked to the topic of interest. It is a source of pride for the Institution to be chosen for this important activity in the search for community well-being.
