The María Cano University Foundation received, by ICONTEC, the extension of the scope of the ISO 9001: 2015 certification in the missionary axes of Teaching, Research and Extension and Social Projection for the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in the face-to-face and virtual modalities , for the different undergraduate and graduate academic programs offered by the Institution at the Medellín, Cali, Neiva, Popayán and the Mariacanovirtual campus.

The certification comes after the visit made in April by the lead auditor Ana María Suarez Molina and the accompanying auditor Cherly Chávez Vargas, where the conditions of the missionary, strategic, transversal and support processes were verified at the national level. , which are part of the María Cano Quality Management System. During the aforementioned meeting, the rector Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras, accompanied by the vice-rectors, the leaders and the work teams of the different processes of the Institution, presented the actions of the subsystems, in accordance with the Institutional Development Plan 2017 – 2026 » Building the Future ”and with the projections that are given, in each term, in the Comprehensive Action Plan, which includes monitoring, measurement of indicators and identification of opportunities for improvement.

It is important to highlight that María Cano was certified by ICONTEC for the first time in 2016 and in 2019 the certificate granted for the Medellín headquarters was renewed. However, this time, the scope of the certification is for all macro-processes and headquarters in the country, so this achievement shows the institutional commitment to continuous improvement and strengthening of the Quality Management System, in coordination with the self-evaluation processes for program accreditation purposes.
