In Cali, outstanding participation in research symposium

Professors José Luis Estela Zape and Carmen Lorena Murillo Panameño, representing the María Cano University Foundation, had an outstanding participation in the XXV Health Research Symposium of the Universidad del Valle, held on June 8 and 9, 2023. During this relevant academic event, they presented a series of research papers originating at the Cali campus.
The research topics presented were important due to the contributions of the students and graduates involved, Valeria San Clemente Cardoza who presented her study entitled «Mitochondrial adaptations in acute respiratory distress syndrome», while Lizeth Noreña Buitrón shared her research work entitled » Bioenergetic and molecular behavior at the mitochondrial level in cardiac diseases». Likewise, Juan David Ramírez presented a valuable case report entitled «Development and pathophysiological outcome of a patient with coinfection between SARS-CoV-2 and DENV admitted to an intensive care unit», which was supervised by the tutor José Luis Estela Zape. On the other hand, Lesly Torres stood out with her degree work entitled «Body composition factors and emotional states related to academic performance in school-age children», under the supervision of Professor Carmen Lorena Murillo.
The participation of these professionals and students reflects the commitment and research quality of the María Cano University Foundation in the field of health, consolidating its presence in academic events of great importance and projecting its valuable contribution to the advancement of scientific knowledge.
