The Coordinator of the Cali headquarters, Néstor Alonso Perlaza Ruiz, participated in the Virtual University Forum: «Challenges of education and the mainstreaming of citizen participation», together with representatives of the municipal mayor of Santiago de Cali, among them: Dr. Rodrigo Salazar, Secretary of Territorial Development and Citizen Participation; Dr. William Rodríguez, Secretary of Education; and Dr. Alexander Zuluaga, Manager of Corfecali. In the same way, the students of the María Cano Physiotherapy program in the capital of Valle del Cauca were present.
In this space for reflection, an important conclusion was generated on the needs of students in higher education training, on the understanding and analysis of contexts, competencies that fit the purposes of training in the Physiotherapy program, a constant objective in the institutional academic activity. In addition, the situations faced by Higher Education Institutions were analyzed, with the recent measures that have been taken at the national and international level, in the face of the covid-19 pandemic, so that university training can continue, saving all the biosafety protocols.
La María Cano present in all contexts that allow us to analyze the advances in education and the challenges that arise to move forward with the commitment to be recognized in 2026 for the training of entrepreneurial and innovative professionals; the quality of programs and services; knowledge transfer to solve problems and needs in the environment, participation in national and international knowledge and cooperation networks; and the contribution to the development and transformation of communities and organizations; as expressed in the Vision of the Institution.
