- 25 octubre, 2023

My name is María Camila Gómez, a graduate of the María Cano University Foundation based in Cali, I graduated in March 2018 obtaining my professional degree as a Physiotherapist and I also completed a training course in the ICU for adults. This experience marked my entry into the world of work. I started working at the REDES IMAT clinic, assuming the position of rehabilitation coordinator. I had the opportunity to work as a physiotherapist in the emergency department, intermediate ICU and hospitalizations at the María Ángel Clinic and then they transferred me to the adult ICU, where I worked for a year.
I joined the team of physiotherapists at the San Francisco Clinic, providing care to adult patients, including those in the coronary ICU. My interest and passion for intensive care were strongly influenced by my experience at the María Cano University Foundation with its practice, where I discovered my passion for this field. During the pandemic, I decided to broaden my academic horizons and obtained a specialization in Health Administration from the Catholic University of Manizales, which allowed me to access new opportunities.
Later, I joined a nephroprotection node in the municipality of Tuluá, where I worked as a physiotherapist for a year and a half. Later, thanks to my skills and postgraduate study, I assumed the position of coordination of this, I was hired by another IPS, Endosalud De West, located in Cali, currently I work as the administrative coordinator.
Everything I have achieved is due to the valuable knowledge that I acquired at the María Cano University Foundation, thanks to the dedication, training and experience of my professors, as well as the enriching practices that I experienced at the University Hospital and at Colgate. These experiences have been fundamental to open doors and explore new horizons in the area of administration. Currently, my career is oriented towards pedagogy, as I have a strong desire to become a teacher. I have had the opportunity to work as a teacher in a Study Center, this experience has allowed me to discover my passion for teaching and has consolidated my path in this area.
