The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of the Fundación Universitaria María Cano celebrates an important achievement that strengthens both the institutional and regional entrepreneurial ecosystem, thanks to its active participation in the University Entrepreneurship Roundtable. This collaborative space made it possible to manage and access funding resources for the registration of inventions, innovations, trademarks, and designs, promoting the protection and strategic positioning of the intangible assets developed by the entrepreneurial community.

As a result of this effort, María Cano took part in the call for the Industrial Property Program for Entrepreneurs – Pi-e, led by the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), which generated a significant impact on the consolidation and differentiation of institutional projects, granting greater added value to their products and services.

The process began in June with the institution’s application and subsequently advanced with the registration and support of five representative entrepreneurial initiatives:

• Marswear.Sport: Design and commercialization of sportswear and accessories

• Maquilarte: A cosmetic laboratory offering manufacturing services, brand design, and the development of personal care products, intimate lubricants, and natural cosmetics

• Alquimia Ancestral: Ferments and probiotics

• Soluciones y Consultorías SCCT: Accounting, tax, and fiscal advisory services

• Leber: Production and commercialization of T-shirts, caps, and accessories

Throughout the technical and advisory phases, the entrepreneurs made the necessary adjustments to ensure the proper formalization and registration of their brands before the SIC, moving forward in the legal and commercial protection of their ventures.

The funding obtained amounts to nearly 25 million pesos, allocated to cover registration processes and strengthen industrial property for the five initiatives. This investment represents a strategic contribution that enhances the sustainability, competitiveness, and future projection of María Cano’s entrepreneurial projects.

This achievement marks a milestone in the institutional management led by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit, reaffirming María Cano’s commitment to:

✅ consolidating differentiated business models,
✅ and strengthening the productive ecosystem from academia.
