María Cano at the Bambuquera Half Marathon
- 26 noviembre, 2025
The María Cano University Foundation, Neiva campus, once again took part in the Bambuquera Half Marathon, one of the region’s most important sporting events, held on November 23 and gathering more than 2,000 athletes across the 5K, 10K, and 21K distances.
For this edition, the institution participated with a team of 26 members, including faculty, administrative staff, and final-semester Physiotherapy students, who provided specialized support to runners through muscle-relief sessions and basic assistance focused on physical recovery.
With this support, athletes received timely care to ease tension and discomfort resulting from the physical effort, contributing to faster recovery and overall well-being after the race.
The participation also offered students a valuable hands-on learning opportunity, allowing them to apply their knowledge in a real-world setting and strengthen their professional skills. Through this initiative, María Cano reaffirms its commitment to human development, social outreach, and the promotion of healthy habits within the community.
