In a ceremony led by the Ministry of National Education, with the presence of Dr. Aurora Vergara Figueroa, at the Pacific Events Center in the city of Yumbo, Valle del Cauca, the students, teachers, directors and institutions that during the year 2023 they contributed to the educational process in Colombia. With the realization of the Night of Educational Excellence: Celebrating the Future 2023, the national government of Colombia exalted the protagonists who stand out, in the country’s educational sector, for their performance, commitment to the community and rigor in quality issues and coverage to contribute to the development and consolidation.

The María Cano University Foundation was the protagonist in receiving the Manuel Zapata Olivella Order due to the high quality accreditations of the Physiotherapy programs at the Medellín, Cali and Popayán campuses; Psychology in Medellín and Business Administration also in the capital of Antioquia. During the exaltation and recognition activity, the Minister of Education highlighted of all the honorees that: «This Night of Excellence honors the tradition of this ceremony of the educational sector and responds to a vision that seeks to transcend individual recognition to collective recognition. , where each achievement is valued as a contribution to the construction of a knowledge society that contributes to the sustainable development of the country.»

The rector Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras, accompanied by the dean of Health Sciences, Amilbia Palacios Córdoba; and the coordinator of the headquarters in the city of Cali, Alba Liliana Garzón Calderón, received the badges that show the importance of the work led by María Cano in the search for high quality accreditations of the different academic programs and the route that The search for institutional accreditation began.

The María Cano University Foundation ratifies, once again, the fulfillment of the goals set in the 2017 – 2026 Development Plan to achieve the institutional vision of being recognized by the year 2026, for the training of entrepreneurial and innovative professionals; the quality of its programs and services; the transfer of knowledge to solve problems and needs of the environment, participation in national and international knowledge and cooperation networks; and the contribution to the development and transformation of communities and organizations.
