María Cano honors the top students of the first semester 2025
- 11 septiembre, 2025

The María Cano University Foundation has congratulated the students with the highest academic averages during the first semester of 2025. After a thorough analysis conducted by the Faculty Councils, a favorable recommendation was issued to the Rectorate, validating the requirements and reviewing the academic and disciplinary history of the selected students. This time, the awardees come from the Medellín, Popayán, and Neiva campuses, where the Academic Excellence Scholarships and Honors Mentions were presented.
The ceremony was presided over by the rector, Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras, who led the event from the Medellín campus. In order to make the event accessible to the entire university community, the Foundation streamed the ceremony live via Facebook Live, allowing students, professors, and families to participate from any location.
The Board of Trustees also defined the academic incentives associated with this recognition. The top three undergraduate students with the best academic averages received partial exemptions from their tuition fees: the first-place winner received a 100% exemption, the second-place winner a 50% exemption, and the third-place winner a 30% exemption. These benefits aim to reward the hard work and dedication shown by these students throughout their academic journey.
Finally, the María Cano University Foundation extends its congratulations to the award-winning students, as well as to their families, who have been a fundamental pillar in their achievements. This type of distinction reinforces the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and motivates the entire university community to continue striving for excellence in their professional paths.
